Mrs. Crosby gave a splendid recital at the Italian-American Forum Club hosted by Bill Fugazy Thursday night in Manhattan. She sang, accompanied by Dave Gross Moonlight Becomes You, Pennies From Heaven and The Second Time Around to great acclaim and sold many books. We went to the Old Time Radio convention in Newark, New Jersey Sat., Oct. 25. She was the unqualified hit of the event and was stellar at the radio-singers' panel. She sold loads of books and there was a amount of Bing fans present. Other guests who were all delighted to be with Mrs. Crosby were Paul Petersen who remembered her from their days at Columbia Pictures, Jimmy Lydon, Betsy Palmer and Beverly Washburn, the little girl from Here Comes the Groom.She was the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Friends of Old Time Radio. Mrs. Crosby was very pleased and looks forward to the Kingsborough eevent tomorrow. |

Martin - you've been a busy guy! Sounds like a wonderful time - how many of the regular posters here were able to attend any of the events or are planning on this evening's? NYC is a four-hour drive for me...I've gone down and back in one day a few times...but...with school in session and working full-time, it's always tough...my husband filled our weekend (we went to Albany to hear David Bromberg and his band - hey, Arne, Bromberg's a voice from the 'past', eh?) so I wasn't able to drag the family down to the radio convention... But it sure sounds like fun! judy |

I enjoyed myself very much at Kingsborough Event. The interveiw with Kathryn and Martin was excellent! Kathryn sang a few songs and made the audience sing along. She sang "Swinging on a Star", "Pennies From Heaven", "Second Time Around" and "Moonlight Becomes You". Martin McQuade did an Excellent Job as usual with his compilation of film clips of Kathryn and some of her special moments with Bing. Kathryn, spoke to me and my dad about our recent operations and signed a few things for us. Great time had by all! |
